WWN Monday
This image is from a video recorded by a terrified passenger show two drunk girls being confronted by German police after their plane was forced to emergency land when one tried to open a door at 30,000ft.
The air rage row erupted on a flight from Kos to Manchester last Wednesday after the yobbish girls were refused more alcohol.
One passenger said: "It was a hell of a scene. One was lashing out with a vodka bottle after they were refused more booze.
"One went to the emergency exit and screamed: 'I want some fresh air.' It was a nightmare.
"The crew were brilliant, wrestling them to the ground and slapping plastic cuffs on them. We thought we'd had it."
The ponytailed Brits, still in their holiday gear, were drunk before their early afternoon flight took off last Wednesday.
When ordered to stop boozing, the girls began yelling and tried to attack staff before passengers helped cabin crew handcuff them – the pilot then made an emergency landing at Frankfurt, Germany.
A video taken by a fellow passenger shows the girls being marched away by at least three cops wearing body armour. As the pair were led off the Boeing 737 in handcuffs, relieved travellers jeered "Auf Wiedersehn" at the girls.
The women, aged 26 and 27 and thought to be from Merseyside, were back in the UK last night, waiting to hear if they face air rage charges in Germany.
Student Nathan Sivajoti, 18, of Wetherby, West Yorks, said: "They were really loud and foul-mouthed.
"A family with children asked them to tone down their language. The girls started shouting and it escalated from there. Stewards tried to calm it down. The pilot came on and said, 'We'll kick you off and we're over Serbia – and the police in Serbia aren't nice'.
"But they didn't calm down and started shouting at other passengers. They were calling one of the stewards names. One of them said, 'I want a piece of him'. Then they started having a go at a ginger passenger.
"But the worst came when one of them slapped a mum. The pilot then said he was landing and one girl tried to light a cigarette but was stopped. One of them tried to open the door but the pressure was too great."
Runways had to be cleared and other planes forced to circle to clear the way for the Boeing to land. After refuelling it continued to Manchester.
A spokesman for XL Airways warned: "We are considering legal action. The crew responded swiftly and bravely and we thank passengers who helped.

The Shetland Islands
The Shetland Islands. ‘Discover a unique blend of Scandinavian and Scottish culture in this stunning archipelago of more than 100 islands, 200 kms off the north coast of Scotland. Uncover ancient history combined with diverse landscapes, incredible geology, fascinating wildlife, world-renowned archaeology and many fantastic events and festivals,’ is how Shetland is described by Shetland at visitscotland.com, but I think those words are too meager, too small, to describe the islands. As I sit in a comfy chair, in the sprawling mansion, turned youth hostel, I reflect on my days here. I crossed the sandbar, as seen in the picture above. I slept aboard a ferry, that seemed to creak and to groan, but managed to transport me here, to this fabulous place. I looked at stone age ruins, that seemed to house the memories of the people who stood where I stood, thousands of years before I. The people seemed lovley, not even staring as I ran around the youth hostel with my hair looking like a birds nest, and in my clothes from the night before. My ancestors also lived here, before coming to New Zealand (look us up!) in 1850. I really love Shetland (It’s sad I fly out tomorrow), and hope I can come again. What place do you love?

Toddler Smokes a Pack a Day
A 2-year-old toddler from the city of Tianjin in China is believed to be the world’s youngest smoker. Believe it or not, Tong Liangliang, started smoking when he was only 18 months old. Today, he is almost three years old and smokes at least a pack a day!According to China Radio International reports on June 23, Liangliang was born with a hernia, an organ squeezed through a hole or a weak spot in a surrounding muscle that can cause excruciating pain. Treatment for hernia is available; unfortunately, Liangliang was too young to undergo surgery at the time. Unable to withstand seeing his son suffer, the caring father came up with a brilliant idea to help him cope with the pain–teach him how to smoke cigarettes even though he was only 18 months old. “The father wasn’t aware how serious the toddler’s habit had become until the child began to increase the number of cigarettes he smoked per day,” said CRI news agency. Since then the young boy has been addicted and refuses to quit. If he sees someone smoking, he will asks for a cigarette. And if refused, he throws himself onto the floor and cries.

Woman documents stolen iPhone's adventures on Facebook -- starring alleged thief
After her iPhone left her possession during a Disney cruise, a woman started noticing new photos being automatically uploaded to her iCloud account. The images include the apparent phone stealer, a woman who appears to be his girlfriend and a bevy of their friends and co-workers. So the woman did what any clever but irate person would do: Upload them to a Facebook gallery, accompanied by hilarious captions.
Katy McCaffrey went on a cruise aboard the Disney Wonder in April. At that time she lost possession of her iPhone. In a comment on the Facebook album she created, she alleges that the smartphone was stolen by a man named "Nelson," who appears in many of the photos and is identifiable thanks to a Disney Cruise employee badge.
McCaffrey is able to see photos taken with her iPhone because of Photostream, an Apple feature which automatically uploads photos to a user's iCloud account. (It seems that the man using her iPhone didn't bother to disconnect her account or erase the iPhone.)
How This Three-Year-Old Made $3 Million in Five Minutes?
A three-year-old boy from Essex was playing with his father’s metal detector for the first time in his life when he stumbled upon a gold pedant estimated to be worth over $3.17m. “I was holding the detector and it went beep, beep, beep. Then we dug into the mud. There was gold there. We didn’t have a map – only pirates have treasure maps.” - James told the press during an interview. James Hyatt, now four, had only been scanning the soil for less than a few minutes when his metal detector started beeping. His father, Jason, was amazed to find out his son’s discovery after he pulled the object out. The rare 16th century gold reliquary locket, which was once worn by the royalty. He has been doing it as a hobby for 15 years, but has never found anything like it. The pendant was believed to date back to the 16th Century and was reportedly be apart of Christ’s crown.
Never-ending Traffic Jam in China
With a fast growing economy and an abundant amount of natural resources. China has surpasses Japan to become the 2nd best country in the world. Much of China’s population living standards has improved greatly and room for personal automobiles has also increased dramatically. However, road infrastructures is still a major problem in China because there is a massive traffic jam on the Beijing-Tibet Highway which been went on for more than 2 weeks!
The bumper-to-bumper gridlock began on Aug. 13 due to a construction project and has stretch to more than 60 miles long. So how long is 60 miles? Imagine a jam stretching from San Francisco, CA to Sacramento, CA. The worse part is that the crisis lasted until the middle of the next month, say authorities.
Stranded drivers have been spending most of their time sleeping, playing card games, and chatting with local villagers who have lined the highway to sell food and water.
Do you still think that your commute is painful?

Funny gravestones
Cemeteries are often a place of sadness. You go to a cemetery for a funeral or to visit a loved one. But, have you ever gone to a cemetery just to walk around, on a bright sunny day, when you are happy? You will see graves that peek your interest, and grave that get you scratching your head. You will see witty epitaphs, and very sad memorials. You will see lighthearted artwork, scary creepy sculptures, and things that appear to make no sense at all. You'll see the modest and conservative, and the colorful and outlandish.

WWN Monday
Dear Bloggers,
Guess what, boys and girls? It's Weird & Wacky News Monday! Every Monday, I will deliver some (usually 2-3) weird and/or wacky news articles or pictures.
First up is.....Cross gender model!
Thai lady boy Angkookrat Warangnam, known as Toon, was one of 200 'women' to enter the Brighton's Next Hot Model contest. Shy Toon sailed through the preliminary rounds, wowing judges with her deep brown eyes, long dark hair and slimline figure. After being given the green light by every member of the panel, the Lady Boys of Bangkok star, 26, revealed that she was born a man.Organiser Scott Woolgar said: "During the selection process it did not cross any of our minds for a minute that she was a man.
Secondly is....Interesting choice of exit!
A Russian man had to be rescued by emergency workers from a rubbish chute where he had jumped to escape his girlfriend (Why?) but ended up getting stuck after sliding three floors down.Soviet era buildings in Russia frequently have a metal rubbish chute in the stairwell with a latch opening on each floor that is slightly bigger than a grocery bag. The unidentified man apparently travelled three floors down the chute in the apartment building in Tyumen before getting jammed at the fifth floor level, when he started calling for help. Rescue workers had to use an "electric instrument" to cut the metal and extricate the victim and passed him to a waiting ambulance team, the ministry said.
And last, but not least......Dinosaurs had arthritis too!

Researchers studying a giant eight metre pliosaurus found evidence of an arthritis like disease in its jaw.Usually capable of ripping other dinosaurs to bits with its 20cm teeth, the gammy jaw would eventually have stopped her feeding and led to her death 150 million years ago.Dr Judyth Sassoon, of Bristol university, was fascinated by the specimen since first seeing it in the Bristol City Museum and Art Gallery. In life, it had a crocodile-like head, a short neck, whale-like body and four powerful flippers to propel it through water in pursuit of prey, reports journal Palaeontology.Studying the skeleton, believed to be a female, Dr Sassoon soon noticed that it had the signs of a degenerative condition similar to human arthritis, that had eroded its left jaw joint, displacing the lower jaw to one side.Dr Sassoon said: "In the same way that aging humans develop arthritic hips, this old lady developed an arthritic jaw, and survived with her disability for some time."But an unhealed fracture on the jaw indicates that at some time the jaw weakened and eventually broke. With a broken jaw, the pliosaur would not have been able to feed and that final accident probably led to her demise."
